Mornings of Emptiness

Some days I wake up a little motionless

Feelings of depression don’t quite fit the label

Although maybe I’m just denying that

But writing helps anyway

We can’t be happy all of the time

I mean, really

We cling so tightly to our positive emotions

That when it’s time to feel feelings of boredom

Anxiety, melancholy or the grey area feelings

We stop in our tracks

Sometimes in denial

Sometimes discouraged

Some of us turn on our TV’S

Hit the joint

And kick back

And some of us

Go on nature walks

And pray

Regardless of the methods we use to cope

Do not fret, friends

Emotions come and go

Later we will be laughing with our friends

Or at a great movie

Though you may say, No

I say

It’s bound to happen
